Share Your Story: C+C is Open for Submissions!
If you've spent much time on the C+C site, you've probably noticed we approach writing about motherhood a bit differently. You won't find any listicles here. There's no drawing of lines, no mom-shaming, no advice. We simply tell our stories—as honestly and beautifully as we can—in the hopes that mothers will read our words and feel less alone. In everything we do around here, our hope and prayer is that you leave our space feeling encouraged.
At Coffee + Crumbs, we believe everyone has a story to tell. Some people tell stories through music or art or photography or baked goods (related: we will always accept a baked goods submission). In our cozy corner of the Internet, we write our stories—a process of gathering (sometimes wrestling) words on the page, the screen, the notes section of our phones, as we desperately try to capture what life in this exact moment feels like.
Today, we're opening up our guest submissions for the first time in 2018. As always, we are seeking well-written, original essays about anything and everything related to motherhood. You can make us laugh or make us cry—we're looking for stories that make us feel something.
We have always desired for Coffee + Crumbs to be a place that captures a wide spectrum of the motherhood experience in an honest and vulnerable way. If you have ever felt like your unique motherhood experience has not been represented in our space, we beg you to use this opportunity to tell us your story. We'd be honored to read it.
For the nitty gritty details (word counts, formatting, our policy on republishing content), you can read our submission guidelines here. You'll also notice that, for the first time, we are charging a reading fee of $3 per submission. This is to cover the costs of operating Submittable, which makes it possible for us to accept guest submissions a few times a year (and keep them organized all year round!). If you're a Year of Creativity member or C+C Patron, that fee is waived.
Year of Creativity members + Patrons can submit here.
Everyone else can submit here.
Thank you in advance for sharing pieces of your heart with us!
