Because everyone loves a potluck …
Picture this: you, your friends, vitamin D, coffee and crumbs galore. You ask, “How are you really doing?” Everyone answers. You swap stories and life updates over a small feast, and everyone leaves feeling safe, known, encouraged and loved.
Our Coffee + Crumbs Mother’s Day Brunch is back—potluck style!
How it works: sign up to host a C+C Mother’s Day Brunch below, and we’ll email you everything you need to organize a potluck with your friends.
No need to take on the full work of hostess; with this year’s brunch, we’re going for more of a “it takes a village” vibe. We’re providing recipes for whoever feels inspired to get messy in the kitchen, as well as plenty of store-bought options to keep things easy and transportable.
Whether you want to throw down a blanket on your backyard lawn, or make arrangements to meet up at a local park, this year we’re keeping it simple with a good ole fashioned potluck. Fresh air, sunshine, good conversation, rinse, repeat.
Let’s talk about the food.
We know, we know—you are exhausted from cooking all the things for all the people, but, fear not, our menu theme this year is as simple as it’s ever been: brunch to-go.
For those who love to cook and bake: we’ve got Caprese Baked Egg Cups, Raspberry-Lemon Muffins, and Homemade Granola.
For those who don’t consider themselves kitchen connoisseurs: whip up a fruit salad, pick up some yogurt cups, or grab some pretty bottled drinks!
We want this day to be easy and effortless and life-giving for you and your friends. From store-bought bagels to freshly made goods, consider this brunch BYO whatever-you-want.
The Mundane Matters
It’s been a long year (#statingtheobvious). Between the 6,732 dishes we’ve washed, the 408 loads of laundry we’ve folded, the 3,914 times we’ve picked toys off up the floor—life has never felt more monotonous.
And yet: it all matters. Every mundane minute, every boring chore, every bandaid applied to a scraped knee. Motherhood is holy work—and the mundane matters.
When you sign up to host a C+C brunch, you’ll get a set of “The Mundane Matters” printable art as a special thank you.
Tack one to your fridge as a reminder, and pass one along to a friend!
Brunch Tunes
Set your phone down in the middle of the blanket, open Spotify, and hit play!
The Invitation:
It’s probably safe to say we could all use something to look forward to right about now.
When you sign up to host a Coffee + Crumbs brunch, we’ll immediately send you an invitation you can text or e-mail to your friends with all the details.
Are you meeting in your backyard? A local park? What time? You’re the host; you set the rules! Send out the invite, and then ask what everyone would like to contribute so you don’t end up with 35 egg cups and no forks.
Not Just For Kids:
Remember the excitement of show + tell day at school, where you could bring everything from Polly Pockets and Care Bears to a tooth that finally broke loose after you took a bite of your morning pop-tart? Glorious.
As it turns out: show + tell for grown-ups is pretty fun, too (ask us how we know!). Simply pick a theme, and ask your brunch guests to bring an item to share with the group.
Here are some ideas to get you started …
Show + Tell: Beauty Edition
Show + Tell: Book Edition
Show + Tell: Favorite Things Edition
Show + Tell: Mom Hack Edition
Before or after you eat, have everyone bust out their treasure to discuss!
- brunches and counting!
