Marriage is hard work. Throw in a few kids and it can be extra, extra hard work. In this episode, we’re getting real honest about some of the storms we’ve weathered in our marriages. Plus, you'll hear why all of us are advocates for marriage counseling, how we split up household chores, creative ways we make time for our spouses, and and April's three guiding questions for couples who work opposite schedules.

Marriage books we love:
Date night in recs:
April - We like to watch a TV series together. We text about the plot and characters during the week and then look forward to catching up on date nights at home. We just finished Breaking Bad and have started The Wire. We like to stay 10 years behind the rest of America.
Ashlee - We also like to watch TV together (House of Cards, The Newsroom, Breaking Bad) but usually for a date night in we do an Indie film (bonus points for quirky and/or dysfunctional family comedies). Ex: The Fundamentals of Caring, Chef, Little Miss Sunshine, Lars & The Real Girl, Safety Not Guaranteed, the Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Way Way Back, Paper Heart.
Lesley: Sushi and/or Chinese takeout is normally a part of date night in. We cannot agree on movies and rarely find something that we both love. We’re currently into The Newsroom and we just finished OJ Simpson: Made in America (which is...not the most romantic date night movie for obvious reasons.)
Favorite Soma products:
Ashlee: lace trim pajama set, embraceable super soft hipster, run around rose leggings
April: full coverage contour nursing bra, Max Support Contour Underwire Sport Bra, Cool Nights Tank/Shorts Pajama Set
Lesley: any of the Cool Nights pajama sets, lace plunge bralette (size up!), Vanishing Edge panties
C+C essays on marriage:
Plus, two old posts from Ashlee's blog: Living Room Therapy | On Marriage, Parenting, and Feeling Invisible
The essay Lesley mentioned - What We Neglect When the Children Are Young
